Who are we?

Street Pastors were pioneered in London in 2003 by Les Isaac.  On that first night, 18 volunteers took to the streets of Brixton – 15 women and 3 men.

Since then over 12,000 street and prayer pastors have been trainined,  playing an active part in strengthening community life and working for safer streets.

Currently, more than 300 towns and cities around the UK have a Street Pastors team. When you add prayer pastors, management teams and trustees, this means that there are over 20,000 volunteers in total associated with the Street Pastors network.

Cambridge Street Pastors was founded in 2009 and is a registered charity.  We are a membership organisation which is run by a Management Committee (Trustees) elected annually from and by its Members.

We encourage members of local churches and any organisation that is working with us to become a Member of Cambridge Street Pastors: this gives you the opportunity to participate in the organisation by coming along to the AGM as a voting member, receiving detailed newsletters, joining patrols any time as an Observer, being elected to join the Management Committee, etc.

For details see the member's form.

Staff

The day to day running of the charity is delegated to our two part-time staff.

MARK STRIVENS

Mark became our Local Director in July 2016.  Mark works with the Administrator and the Trustees to run the charity day to day, recruiting, training and equipping volunteers, overseeing the weekly patrols, and all reporting and communications.

He also supports the Trustees in reaching out to the wider community of church, state and secular friends and is always willing to come along and talk to churches or small groups to raise awareness, support and hopefully find some new recruits.
